We’re slamming this Friday at @officialopus40 . If you’ve ever found yourself derailed from the path you thought you were traveling, you have a detour story. Come throw your name in the hat for a chance to tell your five-minute true-life story. And while you’re there, wander the grounds at magical Opus40 and take in the views and the stonework. A place of beauty! 6pm sign-up, 6.30 stories. $5.

Workshops

New Storytelling Workshop

About the Workshop

In this storytelling workshop, you’ll learn how to shape stories from your life and share them with others in a small group setting. We’ll introduce you to the principles of storytelling and incorporate performance techniques, sensory exploration and memory work to bring your stories to the stage. At the end you will be invited to perform your story at our monthly On The Fly Story Slam.

In this workshop you will:

  • Be introduced to principles and strategies of live storytelling
  • Learn to turn your life experiences into a compelling story
  • Receive individual feedback and support
  • Work with other storytellers to practice and improve your narrative
  • Perform a fantastic 5-minute story!

Is this for you?

Have you ever attended a story slam or listened to the Moth Radio Hour? Do you have a story you’d like to perform or just work on? Have you always wanted to explore storytelling, but never had the time? We’d love to have you!

Listen to Caitlin & Christina talk about the workshop on WKZE on July 16
