“Sometimes reality is too complex. Stories give it form.”
― Jean-Luc Godard
The power of stories to give shape to our lives is immense. Storytelling bridges the individual and the universal. Stories build community and help us make sense of ourselves and the world we live in. In crafting and telling stories of our lived experience, we learn to explore the life experiences that have shaped and defined us but telling our stories also connects us to others and reveals our shared humanity.
Hudson Valley Story Workshops offer workshops in the art of storytelling, teaching you how to develop a personal narrative using storytelling and performance techniques. We incorporate physical exploration and playmaking to uncover the very richest parts of your personal story and to allow you to shape, tell and ultimately perform your story with authenticity and confidence.
“Crazy sexy cool experience. Drop mic.” (Tevis Trower, Woodstock NY)
“The whole thing was really wonderful, and fun, and incredible. You both contribute so much of your own natural talents and experience to it, and set a terrific, warm, fun, but professional tone. It was awesome. Thank you both so much!” (Larissa Phillips, Earlton NY)
